Who Am I...really?

My name is Christen Willard.

Go ahead. Look it up. First name meaning a follower of Christ, last name meaning courageous, steadfast, and determined. Though I’ve known "what" my name is my whole life, it took quite some time for me to understand "who" I am. It wasn’t until very recently that I learned that the answer was quite literally in my name. Let's be honest, the learning never stops, but the mission is clear. This is who I am and who I am becoming. Through my own lived experiences and life challenges, I understand the cost of not truly knowing yourself, the internal heaviness and brokenness that you can carry into each stage of life without having accurate knowledge of this truth. This is where my love of therapy begins.

I'm a firm believer in, "taste and see..." (Psalm 34:8), so know that what you are seeing here is just a taste of God's goodness shown through one female, Christian therapist of color– a vessel, created to be Christen Willard, "...for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14).
